Yup, I have been sick with the crud and it is only week two! I've been told that it takes six weeks. Ugh, I hate being sick. I am probably at 75% now. The stuff has gone into my lungs. I have done little but rest and some computer work.
Thank God that I completed my design job for Canby Center last week. It was the first time I have had a client for my work. I do the design work for Special Olympics Clackamas County but I am also the client.
My biggest concern is the same as other designers. Taking our clients' criticism personally. When I met with Tim, the client, I told him that the design would be similar to jello, loose at first and through feedback (no pun intended) the jello would take shape and then it would become the design to use. I said that for my benefit as well and it was easier to take feedback as feedback not criticism.
Tim was happy with the final product and so was I. It was shortly after that that the "crud" came full force. I hate being sick with it nice outside and yes, I did go out and do some weeding. It was short lived. My energy was sapped.
Yesterday, I was supposed to just rest, however, one of our friends called and asked to come by for a short visit. I went into overdrive cleaning and wiped myself out again.
Today, I slept most of the day because tonight we have two little leprechaun hunters coming over to spend the night. I have green ice cream for an ice cream shake with loopy t loop straws in the shape of a shamrock. Grace is really into St. Pats and leprechauns. Her preschool made a little trap for their little guy and he came that night and turned everything upside down, took stuff out the trap and left shamrocks, gold (chocolate) coins and his hat in the hallway. She was so excited about it that we thought we would make a "trap" here too!
So, tonight they spend the night, I have green glow sticks to have in our fort. We are building a fort in the livingroom with our queensize mattress under it wear the kids and I will sleep after watching "Rise of the Guardians". I plan on moving as little as possible and save my energy to keep up with them.
When they get up in the morning, they will find that their leprechaun has been up to mischief and that he left his friend the leprechaun bear (which I think Grace will rescue) in his trap along with two bags of chocolate gold coins, one for each grandchild...such fun!
