Grace

My Grace Doll, her smile can warm the worst day!  Her songs always brings joy to me.  She loves animals, she never has been into dolls, just stuffed animals and each animal has a mama and some papas.  I can see her as a vet when she grows up but she will promptly tell me that she is going to be a ballerina.  She loves to dance and twirl!  She reminds me so much of Alison when she was little.  Thank You, Lord for a this little one.

Grace helps me make tea in the morning.  She puts the tea bag, milk and sugar in it for me.  I taste it and say somethings missing.  To which she giggles and gives me a kiss.  I take another sip and say that is the "bestest tea" ever!  She did ask me how come my tea needs a kiss and mama's doesn't.  I told her that Nana's tea is "Special Tea" and always tastes better with a kiss.  So far, she has accepted that.

Grace like her brother is really smart--she can write letters of the alphabet, her name, Nana, Gramps and Cat.  She is only three but is trying to keep up with her brother.  She loves to color and paint. Grace is happiest when she can paint on a large poster paper and put stickers on it.  She can even draw a cat--sigh, maybe still has her mom's and Nana's art talent.

I love her name, Grace--so fitting since the Lord sent His Grace to our family.  Grace is a constant reminder of His Love and blessings.

Hunter

Ok, I made it through two posts without saying anything about my wonderful grand kids.  BUT, I find I want to do just that!  Hunter is five years old and is my little man.  He has grown up so much in the past five years.  He looks like 8 and I have to remind myself he is five.  Hunter is sensitive to all that is going on.  If he sees a girl or boy not interacting with the group, he is first to befriend them and try to get them to join in.  He isn't shy in the least.  I was at the playground with Grace and him the other day.  He was interacting with some older boys and my "Nana-protection alert" was on.  I had to force myself to back away and just observe.  He was just fine.

Hunter has a passion about heaven and Jesus--he wants to be sure everyone he loves is going there.  He learned this in preschool and lately he has reminded me that I am not to go to heaven until I am really really really old.  Hunter's latest thing is chess.  We play but it is mostly him advising me on what moves to make.  Larry and him have started playing chess online to bridge the gap of distance there.  I am certain that Larry is really impressed with his son's chess skills.  Thank You, Lord for this gift.  I have been concerned about Hunter when Papa leaves.  What a wonderful way to share some time with him!

I love this little guy with all my heart and love it when he greets me with a big smile and a big warm hug!  It's like winning the lottery every day of your life.  I am so blessed!

Forgiveness

Seems the older I get the more I want to make amends.  Lately, I have been reminded of past hurts and shortcomings by others and myself.  Forgiveness is so easy by the Lord, but us humans, such a trial to get to completion.  I have forgiven the Baptist Church and Lee Wiegand for all the pain brought on Alison and me.  It has been a hard road to this forgiveness, I have held on, let go, picked up, held on tighter but this year with Debbi Wiegand's death, I have truly forgiven Lee and the church.  To see him in such pain at the loss of his wife brought about how senseless the struggle with forgiveness was.

With that said, I find it hard to forgive me for allowing all that pain to fall on Alison.  If only I had waken up to what was going on, Larry and Alison would have had a better relationship. If only the wounds would heal and I could be free of the guilt.  I pray Lord that you take away all this guilt.  Give me peace knowing that You will heal the hurt that Alison still carries, that she will trust in You again.  Also, I pray for Larry to find Your Mercy in all this and grow in You.

Beginning Anew

Years ago I had a blog called "The Chronicles of Nana".  I lost track of passwords and so I have decided to begin anew.  Now, my darling granddaughter, Miss Grace, might think that this blog is about her...sorry, "Grace Doll" but it isn't.  I adore my grand kids both Hunter and Grace and will undoubtedly be writing some about them--they are a big part of my life.  However, I want this blog to be random thoughts and blessings.  Grace Notes are my acknowledgement that the Lord has covered me with His Grace.  I don't deserve it but He is such a loving God that He gave His Son on a cross for me.  Though I am far from perfect and have done so much wrong in my life, one thing is for certain is He has forgiven me.  His Grace covers me and it is enough for me!

My favorite song is "His Grace is Enough".  I sing it when I have the grand kids in the car or when I am alone.  Grace told me last time to turn down the volume on the radio because she couldn't hear me sing--love that child.  I wasn't born with a beautiful singing voice but my little Grace doesn't care.
