We gave ourselves a big Christmas present this year--we paid the house off!! Such a great feeling that we don't have any debt! Dave Ramsey would be proud of us--heck, I'm proud of us.
We didn't have that much left. I was going to pay it off January 15 but now seemed a good time. I just did a preliminary estimate of our taxes and we are getting a good amount back--almost enough to pay for our siding.
I bought this house in 1998 on a 30 year loan. Not bad, paid off in 16 years! It was my goal to pay it off before we go on Medicare. We paid extra as much as we could each month.
So, praise You LORD for making this possible!
